Building an Audience

Distribution platforms:

YouTube:
I can upload my web series onto YouTube and create an audience base as this is a site for you to upload and share your videos with anyone around the world. The audience base for this site is massive as over 800 million people visit this site each month. Many people became known around the world for the videos that they upload onto YouTube.

Vimeo:
I can also upload my web series videos onto Vimeo as this site is said to be one of the best video sharing site where you can upload your videos and also view others. Vimeo reaches out to over 18 million people a month in the US alone. This can also help me create an audience base from people all over the world.

Itunes:
Using Itunes would be a great way of increasing a fan base for my music show. I am able to send an audio podcast out on Itunes of my music show which is free to anyone using Itunes. Audio content can be directly listened to or synced to a portable player. Podcasts can be listened to from anyone, anywhere on the go.

SoundCloud:
This is an online audio distribution platfrom that allows users to record, promote, upload and share their videos around. Soundcloud has over 1million registered users. This would be a great way to upload an audio of my webseries (music show) as people from all over would be to listen to it. By other people listening to it and if they like the audio that they are hearing this will create me an audience base. People from all over the world will be able to listen to the audio.

Social Networking:

Facebook:
Facebook is great way of creating an audience base as over 250 million people log in to their accounts each day. Over 1million people share links on Facebook every 20 minutes. If you upload a video and get a great amount of people liking/commenting and sharing it around then you can also create a fan base from people on the other side of the globe. Many people become known around the world for the videos that they upload and share on Facebook.

MySpace:
Myspace is a music social networking site that has over 100million registered users from all around the world. Quite a lot of famous bands are connected on Myspace and share their music for many of them their career started from Myspace. This would be a good way to get an audience base as you can connect with anyone from around the world and share your music videos/audios.

Twitter:
With Twitter having over 500million registered users from all over the world this would be a good way of creating an audience base. To get a strong audience you can tweet updates about the webseries before and after and post the link so that people will be able to watch it. You can also stream it so that more people become aware of the web series.

Crowd-Funding

Kickstarter:
Kickstarter is one of the worlds largest crowdfunding platform, this help brings peoples projects to life by donations from people who are interested in the project itself. You set a target of what you would like to achieve in donations if you don't reach that target you don't get the money, if you do reach your target then you get the money to help out your project. Kicktstarter is open to projects all over the world. This would help create a fan base from people who donate to help your project as this would be an interest to them.

Press

Music Magazines: I would get the web series noticed by people from plaving advertisements in magazines and local newspapers. I would advertise in music magazines only as people who buys the magazines will be into music and that is my target audience. I would consider magazines like: Q, Kerrang! and NME. Local newspapers would be great as people might support local web series.
